The Jews were allowed to eat those animals that had a divided hoof andchewed their cud. In other words, cleanliness was determined by how ananimal walked and how it ate.The question for us is obvious. Is there a "dividedness" in our walk? Are we separated from the world, or do we walk like everyone around us?We are new creatures in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). Is there adifference in our walk? There should to be. Second, do we chew the spiritual "cud"? Just as a cow constantly chewsand re-chews its food, we are to chew and re-chew the Word, think itthrough, pray it in, extract from it every nutrient to feed our innerman. No wonder the Hebrew word for chewing the cud is essentially thesame word translated "meditation."This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shaltmeditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do accordingto all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy wayprosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. - Joshua 1:8We get to meditate on the Word. We get to look in the book. We get tothink it through once more. And as we do, we'll have good success; we'llbe healthy; we'll be clean.
The lives of Chris & Amber, married Aug.'03. We are Christians, we have confessed Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior! We believe that He died on the cross because sin needed to be paid for, and His blood cleanses our sins, and He forgives us and and leads our life! We live our lives for Him and look forward to eternity with Jesus! We both work, and are both musical, love to go the beach, play games, go to Disneyland, and hang out with friends and family!
